About Lawes
Lawes is a rural locality on the eastern outskirts of Gatton in the Lockyer Valley Region, bisected by the Warrego Highway and the Main Line railway. The University of Queensland Gatton Campus occupies most of the northern part of the locality, serving as a centre for agricultural teaching and research, and is heritage-listed. Named after Sir John Bennett Lawes, a pioneer of agricultural science.
