About Gheerulla
Gheerulla is a rural locality in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, set in the Mary River Valley west of the Blackall Range. The name is derived from an Indigenous Australian word thought to mean empty creek. Much of the locality lies within or adjacent to Mapleton National Park, with Gheerulla Creek and its associated falls a notable feature.
