About Burnside (Qld)
Burnside is a residential locality within the town of Nambour in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, located approximately 107 kilometres north of Brisbane. The name derives from the Gaelic word burn meaning creek, with the district originally known as Running Creek until renamed Burnside in 1918. The area is home to Burnside State School, Burnside State High School, St John's College, Nambour Special School and the largest TAFE campus on the Sunshine Coast. Dulong Lookout on the western edge provides panoramic views across Burnside, Nambour and to the Coral Sea.
