About Baringa
Baringa is a new residential suburb in the Sunshine Coast Region of Queensland, located seven kilometres west of Caloundra and 90 kilometres north of Brisbane. Established in August 2017 and excised from Bells Creek, the name comes from the Gubbi-Gubbi language meaning summit or little mountain. Part of a five billion dollar master-planned community by Stockland, Baringa is expected to accommodate 50,000 people over 30 years. Baringa State Primary School opened in 2018 with a STEM emphasis and Baringa State Secondary College opened in 2021.
