About Muttaburra

Muttaburra is an outback town and locality in the Barcaldine Region of central Queensland, on the banks of the Thomson River, which forms part of the Lake Eyre drainage basin. It was the discovery site of the Muttaburrasaurus, one of Australia's best-known dinosaurs. The town's name comes from the Mootaburra Aboriginal people, meaning "meeting of waters", and the district's bores draw on the Great Artesian Basin to support sheep and cattle grazing.
