About Jundah
Jundah is an outback town and locality in the Shire of Barcoo in Central West Queensland, on the Thomson River about 1,122 km west of Brisbane. Established in 1883 and named with an Aboriginal word meaning woman, it is the administrative centre of Barcoo Shire and sits safely above the river's floodplain. The district's pastoral history is remembered at the Barcoo Shire Museum, and the Native Well, an Aboriginal water source, lies about 32 km to the north.
