About Amaroo (Qld)
Amaroo is an outback locality in the Channel Country of central western Queensland, split between the Shire of Boulia and the Shire of Diamantina. Intermittent rivers including the Georgina and Burke flow through as braided channels in the Lake Eyre basin. The Tropic of Capricorn crosses the locality, which lies within the vast Marion Downs cattle station.
