About Monsildale
Monsildale is a rural locality in the Somerset Region, Queensland, about 137 km north-west of Brisbane. The name derives from the Derbyshire valley that was home to David Cannon McConnel, who established the Cressbrook pastoral run in the area. The locality features the heritage-listed Monsildale Homestead and contains several national parks and state forests including Squirrel Creek, Wrattens, Conondale and Jimna, protecting endangered riverine wetlands and wildlife.
