About Finch Hatton
Finch Hatton is a small rural town in the Mackay Region of tropical north Queensland, situated approximately 83 kilometres south-west of Mackay at the foothills of the Eungella Range. The town is surrounded by sugarcane farmland and tropical bushland, and serves as a gateway to the Eungella National Park, which shelters one of Australia's largest continuous tracts of subtropical rainforest. Finch Hatton sits in the Pioneer Valley along the Finlayson Creek, with the Clarke Range providing a dramatic backdrop to the west.
