About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain is a remote rural locality in the Isaac Region of Central Queensland, about 40 kilometres south-west of Mackay. The area consists of elevated timbered highlands and native grasslands used primarily for beef cattle grazing. The Peak Downs Highway runs through the north-western extremity, connecting the locality to the Mackay coastal plain and the Bowen Basin mining region beyond.
