About Eskdale (Qld)

Eskdale is a rural locality in the Ipswich region of Queensland, located about 89 kilometres northwest of Ipswich and 127 kilometres northwest of Brisbane in the Somerset Region. Bounded by Maria Creek to the northwest and the Biarra mountain range to the southeast, the landscape features Round Mountain at 459 metres and Ivorys Gap with the Esk Crows Nest Road traversing the locality. In 1877, 15,200 acres were resumed from the Eskdale pastoral run and offered for selection, marking early European settlement in this area of crop farming and livestock.
