About Mount Moffatt
Mount Moffatt is a remote section of Carnarvon National Park in central Queensland, occupying the headwaters of the Maranoa River. Its sculpted sandstone outcrops and plateau form the highest plateau in Queensland. Aboriginal rock art sites show occupation of the sandstone rock shelters for some 19,500 years. The Mount Moffatt run was first taken up in 1867 and became a national park in 1979.
