About Kogan
Kogan is a rural town and locality in the Western Downs Region of Queensland, situated about 45 kilometres west-north-west of Dalby on the Darling Downs. The Condamine River and Kogan Creek flow through the area, supporting broadacre cropping and cattle grazing on undulating country at the edge of the Surat Basin. The Kogan Creek Power Station, one of Queensland's largest coal-fired generators, is located nearby, and the town is known for its connection to bush artist Hugh Sawrey, founder of the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame.
