About Jones Gully

Jones Gully is a rural locality in the Toowoomba Region of Queensland, near the New England Highway. It is named for Richard Jones, a prospector who was among the first European settlers in the area. Jones Gully State School opened in 1932, officially opened by Queensland Premier Arthur Edward Moore, and operated until the mid-1950s. The land is used for grazing and cropping.
