About Gurulmundi

Gurulmundi is a rural locality in the Western Downs Region, Queensland, along the Leichhardt Highway about 32 km north of Miles. Its name is an Aboriginal word meaning 'low hills', and the ridgeline of the Great Dividing Range forms its northern and western boundaries. A provisional school operated locally from 1928 to 1965. The locality is known for its wildflowers, and the Gurulmundi School of Arts Hall hosts a branch of the Queensland Country Women's Association.
