About Gilla
Gilla is a rural locality in the Toowoomba Region, Queensland, loosely bounded to the south-east by the Blackbutt Range. The north-west of the locality contains parts of Pidna National Park and Googa State Forest, while the remaining land is used predominantly for grazing on native vegetation. The Ted Pukallus Weir on Cooyar Creek is a popular local fishing spot, and the locality takes its name from a Wakawaka language word meaning native bee.
