About Bargunyah
Bargunyah is a remote rural locality in the Maranoa Region of Queensland, located about 552 kilometres from Brisbane and 195 kilometres west-southwest of Roma. The landscape features semi-arid pastoral lands on the traditional country of the Mandandanji and Gunggari peoples. European exploration began in the 1840s under Surveyor-General Sir Thomas Mitchell, and the area supports cattle and sheep grazing on native and improved pastures with limited infrastructure.
