About Amiens

Amiens is a rural locality on the Granite Belt, about 17 kilometres north-west of Stanthorpe. One of the Pikedale soldier settlements established after World War I, it was named after the Battle of Amiens in 1918 and the railway stations on the branch were all named after Western Front battlefields. The area is known for fruit and vegetable growing with orchards protected by hail nets.
