About Boynedale
Boynedale is a rural locality in the Gladstone Region of central Queensland, about 54 km south of the Gladstone CBD. Named for the Boyne River, which Surveyor-General John Oxley named in 1823, it borders Lake Awoonga, the river's impoundment behind Awoonga Dam. Boynedale railway station served the locality from 1910 until its closure in 1997, and the heritage-listed Glengarry Homestead stands on the Gladstone–Monto Road.
