About Blackdown

Blackdown is a rural locality in the Central Highlands Region of Queensland, in the hills between Rockhampton and Emerald. The locality takes its name from the Blackdown Tableland, a sandstone plateau rising steeply above the surrounding plains, and encompasses much of Blackdown Tableland National Park, known for its deep gorges, waterfalls and scenic lookouts.
