About Barmoya
Barmoya is a rural locality in the Livingstone Shire of Central Queensland, situated approximately 32 kilometres north-northeast of Rockhampton. The landscape of pastoral and grazing country on the Capricorn Coast hinterland is characterised by long-standing family cattle properties, including Henderson Park which has been in the same family for five generations since its settlement in 1865. The area retains a strong rural community, with the annual Barmoya Bash community event held at a century-old dance hall near the former school site.
