About Minjilang
Minjilang is an Aboriginal community on Croker Island in the West Arnhem Land region of the Northern Territory, situated approximately 200 kilometres north-east of Darwin across the Arafura Sea. The community is home to the Iwaidja people and is known as the centre for the maintenance of the Iwaidja language and the production of traditional bark paintings and prints. Minjilang sits within a landscape of tropical savanna, monsoon forests and coastal mangroves, with the surrounding waters of the Arafura Sea providing fishing and marine resources.
