About East Side
East Side is an inner suburb of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory, located on the eastern side of the township on the traditional Country of the Arrernte people. With a population of around 2,919 at the 2016 census, the suburb experiences an arid central Australian climate with a mean maximum temperature of 28.9 degrees Celsius and annual rainfall of just 283 millimetres. East Side is one of several inner suburbs of Alice Springs alongside Araluen, Braitling, Ciccone, Desert Springs, Gillen, Kilgariff, Sadadeen, Stuart and The Gap. The suburb is served by the State electorate of Braitling and the federal division of Lingiari.
