About The Narrows (NT)
The Narrows is a northern inner suburb of Darwin in the Northern Territory, situated on a narrow strip of land between Ludmilla Creek and Sadgroves Creek about 4 kilometres from the city centre. It is the traditional country and waterways of the Larrakia people. The suburb appeared on early plans of Darwin and was retained when the area was subdivided for residential development in 1960; during the Second World War the natural neck of land was used as a defensive block to restrict access to Darwin's peninsula.
