About Wakeley
Wakeley is a residential suburb of western Sydney, 34 km from the central business district, in the City of Fairfield, where the council chambers are located. The suburb is named after Daniel Wakeley, an early free settler in the area, and was formally gazetted in 1979 on land that had been sparse farmland, with most development following in the 1980s.
