About Berkshire Park

Berkshire Park is a suburb of Sydney in the City of Penrith, about 55 km north-west of the central city near Windsor, on land first granted to the settler Richard Rouse in 1838. The suburb has an unusual mix of land uses, including a correctional complex, a nature reserve, a pet cemetery and a racehorse education centre. The Francis Greenway Correctional Complex, a minimum-security prison group about 5 km south of Windsor, occupies a large part of the suburb, which is otherwise made up of farms and rural properties.
