About Huskisson
Huskisson is a village in the City of Shoalhaven on the shores of Jervis Bay in New South Wales, about 24 kilometres south-east of Nowra, bounded by Currambene and Moona Moona creeks and Jervis Bay National Park. Founded in the 1840s on the traditional lands of the Yuin people as a seaport for the Wool Road, it grew as a shipbuilding centre, with more than a hundred wooden vessels built along the creek, including the ferry Lady Denman, now displayed at the local maritime museum. Today it is a popular holiday town known for its white-sand beaches and clear water.
