About Willbriggie

Willbriggie is a farming community in the Riverina of southern New South Wales, in the City of Griffith about 16 kilometres north of Darlington Point. It lies in the rice-growing Murrumbidgee Valley, and its grain silos are a local landmark. A railway post office opened here in 1881, took the name Willbriggie in 1909 and closed in 1975. Local properties include soldier settlement blocks excised from the old Kooba Station, and a local family that has grown rice since 1965 was named SunRice Ricegrower of the Year in 2023.
