About Wantiool
Wantiool is a rural locality in the Junee Shire of the Riverina, about 10 kilometres east of Junee. It was the site of a gold rush in 1880 that attracted around 600 miners to the workings along Wantiool Creek, and later supported a state school from 1911 until 1947 before reverting to farmland.
