About Pucawan
Pucawan is a rural locality in the Temora Shire of the Riverina in New South Wales, located about 341 kilometres from Sydney. The name is Aboriginal for native bear or koala, and the landscape features flat to gently undulating Riverina farmland. Pucawan was a railway station on the Temora-Roto railway line, opening in 1905 as Linton after a local property before being renamed in 1914, and served grain transport until the line's closure. The area supports cereal and livestock farming on the broad agricultural plains.
