About Murray Gorge

Murray Gorge is a remote rural locality in the upper Murray River valley of New South Wales, on the Alpine Way between Khancoban and Thredbo, adjoining southern Kosciuszko National Park. It is the site of the Tom Groggin campground on the banks of the Murray, a base for fishing and bushwalking, and the river gorge here was surveyed as a potential dam site for the original Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Scheme.
