About Khancoban

Khancoban is a small town in New South Wales, 567 km from Sydney and 13 km from the Victorian border, in the western foothills of the Snowy Mountains near the upper reaches of the Murray River. The town was built to house workers on the Snowy Mountains Scheme, Australia's largest engineering project, and is still home to workers from the nearby Murray 1 and Murray 2 power stations.
