About Kamarah

Kamarah is a village community in the central Riverina of New South Wales, in Narrandera Shire, about 11 km west of Ardlethan. The village grew around a railway station on the Temora–Roto line, opened in 1908, and was formerly known as Bygoo before taking its present name, said to come from an Aboriginal word for 'sleep'. Its post office operated from 1910 until 1986, and the railway line remains in use for grain traffic.
