About Gadara
Gadara is a rural locality in the Snowy Valleys Council area of the Riverina, about 45 kilometres from Tumut. Set among broad-acre farms and grazing country, it was the namesake of the former Gadara Shire proclaimed in 1906 and abolished in 1928, and lies within the Tumut district of the western Slopes.
