About Brungle
Brungle is a locality in the Riverina region of New South Wales, about 16 kilometres south-east of Gundagai and 20 kilometres north-east of Tumut. It has a strong Waradajhi (Wiradjuri) Aboriginal community, and the local public school, which opened in 1868, carries the sign Gadhang Burri Yalbillinga, meaning Happy Children Learn in the local language. Around half of the school's students are of Waradajhi descent, and a post office operated from 1868 until 1975.
