About Tregeagle

Tregeagle is a rural locality in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, about 12 kilometres south-east of Lismore. The area is on the traditional country of the Widjabul and Wia-bal peoples of the Bundjalung Nation. Early settlers knew the district as Boggy Creek; it was renamed around 1920 after a local property of the Anstey family, taking its name from the Bundjalung word Dirrigeagle, a type of local gorse.
