Swan Bay is a locality in the Richmond Valley of New South Wales, near Woodburn, taking its name from a sheltered shallow waterway that was once a meander of the Richmond River before it was cut off from the main flow. Known earlier as Devil's Elbow, the bay was a historic crossing on the route up the Richmond River, with a ferry operating from its bank. Once teeming with black swans that became scarce as the waterway silted up, it has seen the birds return in recent years after rehabilitation works, and is identified as key fish habitat.
