About Nightcap

Nightcap is a sparsely settled rural locality in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, in Lismore City Council, lying on the Nightcap Range. Its name derives from a night camp used by early surveyors. The locality adjoins Nightcap National Park, part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, and includes Terania Creek, site of the anti-logging protests of 1979 to 1982 that preceded the creation of the park.
