About Nashua

Nashua is a locality in the Byron Shire of New South Wales, situated between Lismore and Byron Bay in the Northern Rivers region. The name derives from the Toohey family, of Tooheys Brewery fame, who named their property after a Native American word meaning "land between two rivers". The undulating countryside supports dairy cattle and pecan nut farming. The Ballina-Booyong railway line once passed through but closed in 1953.
