About Duck Creek
Duck Creek is a rural locality in the Kyogle Council area of northern New South Wales, about 50 to 70 kilometres north-west of Casino in the Northern Rivers hinterland. Hilly subtropical farmland and remnant bushland characterise the landscape, with Duck Creek, Branch Creek and several other named waterways draining the area through cattle properties and scattered farming holdings. The Duck Creek run was established by Scots settler J.D. McLean in 1841 as one of the earliest European pastoral runs in the district, and the Gidhabal people of the Bundjalung nation are the traditional custodians.
