About Mayfield West
Mayfield West is a residential suburb of Newcastle in the City of Newcastle, New South Wales, located 8 kilometres northwest of the Newcastle central business district. The suburb is on the traditional land of the Awabakal people. One of the first European settlers was John Laurie Platt. The suburb was established in 1969 and is bordered by Sandgate, Kooragang, Warabrook, Mayfield North, Waratah West, Waratah and Mayfield. Mayfield West is in the state electorate of Port Stephens and the federal Division of Newcastle.
