About Kahibah
Kahibah is a residential suburb of the City of Lake Macquarie in Greater Newcastle, New South Wales, located nine kilometres south-west of Newcastle CBD and two kilometres north-east of Charlestown. The name derives from an Aboriginal word meaning a place for games or to be active and eager. The suburb is closest to Glenrock Lagoon and features Leichhardt Lookout on the Great North Walk. The former coal rail line to Redhead, operational from 1880 to 1992, has been re-developed as the Fernleigh Track cycleway.
