About Long Plain (Inverell - NSW)

Long Plain is a rural locality in the Inverell Shire of the Northern Tablelands in New South Wales, situated about 18 kilometres from Inverell by road. Set at an average elevation of 645 metres on undulating country with black and red basalt soils, Swanbrook Creek flows through the area with spring-fed waterholes. The Long Plain Memorial Hall, opened in 1922 as a World War I memorial, is a landmark of the community, and the Gwydir Highway passes through the locality.
