About Pappinbarra

Pappinbarra is a rural locality in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, situated in the Pappinbarra Valley approximately 53 kilometres west of Port Macquarie within the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council area. The landscape stretching from the Mount Boss State Forest in the west to the outskirts of Beechwood in the east was cleared by pioneer settlers in the mid-1800s, with land auctioned on the lower Pappinbarra River as early as 1849. The valley has a strong community spirit, with the Pappinbarra Progress Association formed in 1912 to agitate for improved roads and rural infrastructure, and the Hollisdale Hall serving as a focal point for local gatherings.
