About Blackmans Point
Blackmans Point is a small rural suburb of Port Macquarie, located approximately 14 kilometres north-west of the city centre at the confluence of the Hastings and Maria Rivers. Named after colonial explorer James Blackman who accompanied John Oxley on an 1818 expedition to the region, the area is historically significant as the site of the 1826 Blackmans Point massacre. The suburb offers boating and fishing along its riverside.
