About Arakoon

Arakoon is a locality on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, an eastern suburb of South West Rocks in Kempsey Shire and the original settlement of that town. It is the site of the heritage-listed Trial Bay Gaol, completed in 1886 and later used as an internment camp during World War I. The gaol now stands within Arakoon National Park on Laggers Point.
