About Mangerton
Mangerton is an inner western suburb of Wollongong in the City of Wollongong, New South Wales, located two kilometres from the Wollongong CBD and 85 kilometres south of Sydney. The suburb sits atop Mount Mangerton hill, part of the Mangerton hill mass which also incorporates Mount Saint Thomas, providing good views of Wollongong. Formerly known as Hospital Hill due to its proximity to Wollongong's major hospital, many doctors and families lived in the suburb. The railway and highway curve around the hill mass rather than taking a direct line to Unanderra.
