About Swan Bay (Port Stephens - NSW)
Swan Bay is a small locality on the north-western shore of Port Stephens in New South Wales, south-west of Karuah. It is a tiny village and a centre of oyster cultivation, Port Stephens being reputedly the largest oyster-producing area in the country. The local industry began by harvesting rock oysters before moving to dredging the mud flats and then to cultivated beds, and the area is on the traditional land of the Worimi people.
