About Summer Hill (Dungog - NSW)
Summer Hill is a small rural locality in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, about 76 kilometres north of Newcastle, within Dungog Shire. It lies in the dairy country of the Williams River valley and was settled as a Catholic farming community, many of whose families were tenants of the Edward Kealy estate. A slab-timber church rebuilt in brick in 1913 still holds services, and a local school operated until 1975.
