About St Clair (Singleton - NSW)
St Clair is a rural locality in the Singleton local government area of the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, at the foot of the Mount Royal Range about 25 kilometres north of Singleton. The area is the site of Lake St Clair, the impoundment created by Glennies Creek Dam in 1983 and named after the St Clair homestead lost beneath the water, now a popular destination for camping, fishing and water sports. It is also the historic site of the St Clair Aboriginal Mission, established in 1893, which became a centre of Aboriginal life in the Hunter Valley.
